Search Engine Optimization for Help Center

Search Engine Optimization for Help Center

Your Help Center content, viz. articles and community posts, should be made easy for both your customers and search engines to understand. You simply can’t stop with having a perfect Help Center with great content. The search engines such as Google should be able to crawl your Help Center and its content in their search results. One straightforward way to garner attention from the search engines is to use the meta tags. The meta tags will give search engines instructions on what your Help Center is about and how they should treat it.

As an administrator, you can provide the meta attributes for your Help Center in Zoho Desk. The meta attributes will include the title, meta description, and the meta keywords. Please note that these attributes must be encompassing your Help Center as a whole. The attributes are as explained below:

  • Meta Title: This is the text you'll see at the top of your browser when you access the Help Center URL. Search engines view this content as the "title" of your Help Center.
  • Meta Description: A brief description of your Help Center.
  • Meta Keywords: You can enter a series of keywords you deem relevant to your Help Center.
  • 'NoIndex' and 'NoFollow': Check this option to suggest search engines (most notably Google) not to index or follow any links on your Help Center. It is useful when you are testing and want to make your Help Center pages (articles, community posts, etc.,) invisible to search engines, indexing robots, and web page crawlers.

To enter these SEO attributes:
  1. Click the Setup icon (  ) in the top bar.
